Our Little Story

A Brave Decision in Difficult Times

In 2020, with the advent of the coronavirus pandemic, the Leandros family, who until then worked for a large toy sales company in Athens, made a big decision. To return to a provincial town in Agrinio, AItoloakarnania, to the land where the Father of this family was born and raised, and to buy its first olive groves and create its first beehives.

Following the Old Ways - Seeking Something Greater

At first, they cultivated the olives in the traditional way, strictly following the advice of the village elders. They sold their harvest to wholesale buyers, just like everyone else.  However, it didn’t take them long to realize that this was not enough for them. They dreamed of something more.

A Land Full of Potential - Learning and Innovating

Their village’s fertile land was well-known for producing exceptional extra virgin olive oil, yet it lacked modern practices and organized commercial structures. So, the family decided to fill this gap.  They studied, gained knowledge, and worked hard to combine the excellent climate and the unique Agrinio olive variety, known as Chondroelia, with new, scientifically proven techniques.

Growing Together - Taking Control of Their Product

Gradually, other villagers joined their vision. The production grew, stood out in quality, and began to attract attention beyond the village.  In the spring of 2024, they took a bold step: they started to standardize and bottle their own olive oil instead of selling it to wholesalers, breaking a tradition of decades.

Improving Quality with Respect for Tradition

The Leandros family knew that true quality comes from respecting what came before while daring to explore what could be better. They listened carefully to the seasoned growers of the village — the elders who, with rough hands and wise eyes, had tended these olive trees for decades, sometimes even for generations. Every piece of advice, every old technique for pruning, watering, and harvesting was treasured like a secret recipe passed down through time.

With a fresh look for a sustainable future

At the same time, the family Leandros opened their minds to modern science. They studied agricultural research, attended seminars, and sought expert guidance to understand the olive tree as a living organism that thrives best when tradition and technology work hand in hand. They introduced sustainable farming practices, precise irrigation systems, and natural methods for pest control to protect both the trees and the land itself.

This careful balance between old and new transformed their groves into a symbol of what rural Greece could become: a place where heritage and progress coexist. As a result, each drop of their olive oil carries the taste of the past and the promise of a more thoughtful, sustainable future.

Vision 2026 - The Future Kids

Today, with effort, passion, and persistence, the Leandros family keeps moving forward. Very soon, their 200 acres of olive groves will proudly carry the label at 2026 Organic Extra Premium Virgin Olive Oil Eleagrin.

A vision above all to leave a better future and a legacy not only for the children of the family but also for the childrens of the entire Village and the Region. The future Olive Growers of Eleagrin

And this is just the beginning.....
